Farnborough Airshow 2026 drew a record 141,580 visitors and 1,636 exhibitors, but commercial deals totalled $84.7 billion, down from an estimated $105 billion in 2024 - a record global backlog of 16,925 aircraft, not fading demand, was the constraint. SMBC Aviation Capital placed the week's biggest order (200 aircraft), Canada formally became GCAP's first observer nation, and BAE Systems revealed Brontanax, a fighter-scale combat drone it had secretly self-funded since 2022 - one week after the UK named its own competing programme, Storm Fighter. Farnborough 2028 runs 17-21 July.
ILA Berlin 2026 Recap: Bigger Crowds, a Fighter Reset and Drones Everywhere
ILA Berlin 2026 closed with around 110,000 attendees and 765 exhibitors from 37 countries, continuing a recovery from 72,000 in 2022 and 95,000 in 2024. Two days after work on the New Generation Fighter ended, Airbus unveiled Team Gen 6 on the show floor, an eight-company German grouping with a parallel Spanish initiative alongside it. Uncrewed and autonomous systems dominated the exhibition, and ILA Berlin 2028 is already set for May 17-21, 2028.
