About This Show
Biennale d'Art Contemporain de Lyon is the 18th edition of Lyon's contemporary art biennale, running from September 19 to December 13, 2026 under the theme "Passer d'un reve a l'autre" (To pass from one dream to another). The event spans multiple emblematic venues across the city, including the macLYON museum of contemporary art, Les Grandes Locos, the Musee des Tissus et des Arts decoratifs, the traboules of the Croix-Rousse hillside, the garden of the Musee des Beaux-Arts, the Institut d'art contemporain, the Musee des Confluences, and the Fondation Bullukian. The 2026 edition brings together 46 new artists alongside returning participants, and includes the "Biennale en territoires" and "Jeune creation internationale" programs. The biennale offers visitors a way to experience the city through its museums, public spaces, and passageways, making it one of France's major recurring platforms for contemporary art.
