2026 Recap
The 27th World Mining Congress was held 24-26 June 2026 at the Lima Convention Center in Lima, Peru, the first time Peru hosted the event in 52 years. It drew more than 5,500 participants from 55 countries under the theme "Mining for the Future," focusing on how the industry can supply the critical minerals needed for the global energy transition. A High-Level Roundtable led by Peru's Minister of Energy and Mines brought together government and institutional representatives from ten economies across the Americas, Europe and Asia. At the closing ceremony, the symbolic WMC lamp was handed to China.
