October 2026 Trade Shows: 40+ Major Events, Dates & Planning Guide

October Trades Volume for Scale

Across the shows TradeShowBuzz tracks, September is the month with the most events on it. October is the month with the biggest ones.

Two of the highest-attendance events on our calendar both open in Paris in October, five days apart: the Mondial de l'Auto on October 12 and SIAL Paris on October 17. Their most recent editions reported 508,007 visitors and more than 285,000 visits respectively. Both run on a two-year cycle, so 2026 is an edition year for each.

Behind them sits the reason October matters commercially: it is the last full month in which many buyers can still negotiate Q4 orders or finalise early-2027 supply plans. Food and fresh produce dominate the first week, Germany runs an unusually heavy industrial block from October 20, Las Vegas hosts five significant floors in three weeks, and the Canton Fair runs across the entire month in three phases.

Here are the October 2026 trade shows worth planning around, starting with the calendar at a glance.

The internationally significant October shows, drawn from 890+ published events opening in the month. For the full month, browse the TradeShowBuzz shows directory. Every date and city above was verified against the organiser's own site or official press material on August 27, 2026 - always confirm on the organiser's website before booking travel.

The Biggest Floors of the Month

Each figure below is the one the organiser reported for that show's most recent edition. These are historical figures, not forecasts for 2026, but they are the best available guide to the scale you should plan for.

EventMost recent editionReported figureExhibitors
Mondial de l'Auto2024508,007 visitors48 brands
SIAL Paris2024285,000+ visits7,500
Fruit Attraction2025121,137 trade professionals2,485
CEATEC202598,884 registered visitors810
Beautyworld Middle East202585,297 visitors2,500+
CPHI Worldwide202458,664 visitors2,838
PACK EXPO International202448,000 attendees2,700
AUSA Annual Meetingrecent edition44,000+ attendees750+
Expo Real2025~42,000 participants1,700+

Read that table carefully, because the metrics are not interchangeable. Organisers count differently: SIAL reports visits, which counts repeat entries across a five-day run, while CEATEC reports registered visitors and PACK EXPO reports attendees separately from exhibitor personnel. The Paris Motor Show is a public show, so most of its 508,007 are consumers rather than buyers. Do not rank these against each other as if they were the same number, and do not compare them with figures from other months.

What the table does support is a comparison of shape. SIAL fields roughly three times the exhibitor count of Fruit Attraction, while CEATEC draws nearly 99,000 registered visitors to just 810 stands. Those are very different floors to work, and they need very different staffing plans.

Mondial de l'Auto - October 12-18 | Paris Expo Porte de Versailles

The Paris Motor Show returns for its 91st edition. The 2024 edition recorded 508,007 visitors across the week. October 12 is reserved for press and trade, with public days running October 13-18. It is biennial, so this is a 2026-or-2028 decision. For focused trade meetings, prioritise the industry day on Monday before the public programme begins.

SIAL Paris - October 17-21 | Paris Nord Villepinte

The organiser describes SIAL as the world's leading food innovation event, and on exhibitor count it is among the largest food and beverage exhibitions anywhere. The 2024 edition reported more than 285,000 visits and 7,500 exhibitors, with 78.5% of visitors international. Also biennial. If you sell food or drink internationally, this is the densest concentration of buyers on the October calendar. Note that SIAL opens five days after the Paris Motor Show begins and overlaps its final weekend, so if you are working both, sort accommodation early.

PACK EXPO International - October 18-21 | McCormick Place, Chicago

Organiser PMMI positions PACK EXPO International as the packaging and processing industry's most comprehensive event in the Western Hemisphere. The 2024 edition was the largest in the show's own history: 48,000 attendees (77,500 including exhibitor personnel) and a record 2,700 exhibitors across 1.32 million net square feet. It runs biennially in even years.

CEATEC - October 13-16 | Makuhari Messe, Chiba

CEATEC is Japan's principal digital innovation exhibition. The 2025 edition recorded 98,884 registered visitors across 810 exhibiting companies and organisations, including 156 exhibitors from 29 countries. For 2026 it runs concurrently with Japan Mobility Show Bizweek, which broadens the visiting audience well beyond electronics buyers.

The German Block, October 20 Onward

Germany runs a compressed industrial stretch in the back half of the month, and four of the largest events are biennial even-year fairs:

  • EuroBLECH - October 20-23 | Hannover Exhibition Grounds. The 28th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition, and one of Europe's principal floors for sheet metal forming, cutting and joining. Biennial.
  • glasstec - October 20-23 | Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. Billed by its organiser as the world's leading glass industry trade fair, covering machinery, equipment, applications and products. Biennial.
  • Routes World - October 21-23 | Messe Frankfurt. The 31st World Route Development Forum, where airlines and airports negotiate route networks. Over 2,500 delegates and 250-plus airlines are expected.
  • it-sa - October 27-29 | NürnbergMesse. Positioned by NürnbergMesse as Europe's leading IT security trade fair.
  • IZB - October 27-29 | Wolfsburg. The International Suppliers Fair, the automotive supply chain's main German meeting point. Biennial, and note that this edition was postponed from its original slot into these dates.
  • ORGATEC - October 27-30 | Cologne. Workspace design, office furniture and contract interiors. Biennial.

Earlier in the month, ALUMINIUM in Düsseldorf and Motek in Stuttgart both run October 6-8, and Chillventa takes Nuremberg on October 13-15. Motek shares its Stuttgart halls with Bondexpo, the bonding technology fair, on the same three days.

The practical consequence: EuroBLECH and glasstec run head-to-head on identical dates in two different German cities, and both are biennial. If your business touches both glass processing and sheet metal, you cannot cover them with one team in 2026, and you cannot defer either to 2027.

The Las Vegas Month

Five significant floors land in Las Vegas inside three weeks:

  • IMEX America - October 13-15 | Mandalay Bay. The meetings, events and incentive travel industry's main US marketplace.
  • Money20/20 USA - October 18-21 | The Venetian. The fintech and payments industry's flagship gathering.
  • NBAA-BACE - October 20-22 | Las Vegas Convention Center, with the static aircraft display at Henderson. Business aviation, with 1,000-plus exhibitors.
  • FABTECH - October 21-23 | Las Vegas Convention Center. Billed by its organisers as North America's largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event, with 1,400 exhibits and 31,000-plus attendees expected. Note the venue change: FABTECH has moved off its usual Chicago-Las Vegas-Atlanta rotation for 2026, and this is its first Las Vegas edition in ten years. Listings still showing Atlanta are out of date.
  • Oracle AI World - October 25-28 | Venetian Convention and Expo Center. Oracle's flagship customer and developer conference.

NBAA-BACE and FABTECH overlap on October 21-22 at the same venue. If you are working both, check accommodation and flight availability early rather than assuming the usual Las Vegas supply will absorb it.

Food, Produce & Consumer

  • Fruit Attraction - October 6-8 | IFEMA Madrid. The international fruit and vegetable trade fair, and one of the fastest-growing shows on this list: the 2025 edition set records with 121,137 trade professionals from 152 countries and 2,485 exhibitors from 64 countries across 78,212 net square metres. Potato is the featured category for 2026, with China and the UAE as invited importing countries.
  • Conxemar - October 6-8 | IFEVI, Vigo. The international frozen seafood exhibition, running the same three days as Fruit Attraction at the other end of Spain.
  • Beautyworld Middle East - October 6-8 | Dubai World Trade Centre. Messe Frankfurt's regional beauty flagship, described by the organiser as the largest beauty trade event in the Middle East. The 2025 edition drew a record 85,297 visitors from 178 countries and more than 2,500 exhibitors from 68 countries, up around 25% on exhibitor numbers year on year. Note the date move: the 2026 edition runs in early October, not the late-October slot it held in 2025.
  • SIAL Paris - October 17-21 | Paris Nord Villepinte. See above.
  • Canton Fair (140th session) - Phase 1 October 15-19, Phase 2 October 23-27, Phase 3 October 31-November 4 | China Import and Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou. Three separate five-day phases: electronics, appliances, machinery, vehicles and hardware in Phase 1; houseware, gifts, decorations, building materials and furniture in Phase 2; then fashion, home textiles, toys, baby and maternity, stationery, health and food in Phase 3. Each phase is effectively its own trade show, and you cannot see one phase's categories during another. If you source both homeware and textiles, plan two separate visits or a stay spanning October 23 to November 4.

Manufacturing & Industrial

  • MSV - October 6-9 | Brno Exhibition Centre. The Czech Republic's International Engineering Fair, and Central Europe's main general industrial floor.
  • ALUMINIUM - October 6-8 | Düsseldorf. The world trade fair and conference for the aluminium industry, spanning production, processing and applications.
  • Motek - October 6-8 | Stuttgart. Production and assembly automation, handling technology and industrial robotics.
  • PACK EXPO International - October 18-21 | Chicago. See above.
  • EuroBLECH - October 20-23 | Hannover. See above.
  • FABTECH - October 21-23 | Las Vegas. See above. Note the transatlantic split: EuroBLECH and FABTECH cover substantially overlapping ground and open two days apart on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
  • JIMTOF - October 26-31 | Tokyo Big Sight. The 33rd Japan International Machine Tool Fair, running six days. Biennial, and one of the major machine tool exhibitions in Asia.

Technology, Energy & Infrastructure

  • Expo Real - October 5-7 | Messe München. Europe's principal commercial property and investment fair. The 2025 edition drew around 42,000 participants from over 70 countries across more than 1,700 exhibitors from 34 nations.
  • CEATEC and Korea Electronics Show - both October 13-16 | Chiba and Seoul. East Asia's two national electronics showcases run on exactly the same four days. KES 2026 is the 57th edition, themed "AI in Motion", at COEX.
  • Chillventa - October 13-15 | NürnbergMesse. Refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pump technology.
  • Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo - October 19-22 | Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando. Gartner's flagship conference for CIOs and senior IT executives.
  • WETEX - October 20-22 | Dubai World Trade Centre. Water, energy, technology and environment, organised by DEWA.
  • TOC Americas - October 20-22 | Panama Convention Center. Container ports, terminals and supply chain for the Americas.
  • Routes World - October 21-23 | Messe Frankfurt. See the date-churn section below.
  • Renewable Energy India - October 22-24 | India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. Promoted by its organiser as Asia's largest clean energy event, and India's main renewables floor.
  • All-Energy Australia - October 28-29 | Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Australia's main clean and renewable energy event, closing the month.

Several October 2026 Listings Are Easy to Get Wrong

Several high-profile October listings changed location, shifted from their usual timing or rebranded during the run-up to the 2026 edition. Stale versions remain in circulation:

  • Routes World moved country. It was awarded to Riyadh for October 18-20, then relocated to Messe Frankfurt on October 21-23 in May 2026. Listings still showing Riyadh, or any Asian host, are wrong.
  • FABTECH moved city. It has come off its Chicago-Las Vegas-Atlanta rotation and runs in Las Vegas on October 21-23, its first edition there in a decade. Atlanta listings are out of date.
  • Beautyworld Middle East moved within the month, from a late-October slot to October 6-8.
  • Africa Health rebranded. The Johannesburg show now runs as WHX Johannesburg on October 6-8 at Gallagher Convention Centre.

Two further events are frequently misfiled into October and are not October 2026 shows at all: GITEX Global runs December 7-11 in Dubai, and BuildTech Asia ran in March. If either is on your Q4 plan on the strength of a directory listing, check it now.

The practical rule: for anything in this month, confirm against the organiser's own site before you book. That applies to this page too, which is why the verification date is stated under the calendar table.

How to Choose When Everything Overlaps

1. Take the biennial shows first. SIAL Paris, the Mondial de l'Auto, PACK EXPO International, EuroBLECH, glasstec, ORGATEC, JIMTOF and IZB are all even-year events. An annual show you skip returns in twelve months; a biennial one costs you two years. Lock the even-year events into the calendar first and fit the annuals around them.

2. Resolve the October 20-23 block deliberately. That four-day window carries EuroBLECH, glasstec, WETEX, NBAA-BACE, TOC Americas, Equip Exposition, FABTECH, ITB Asia and Routes World, with Canton Fair Phase 2 opening on the 23rd. It is the densest stretch of the month. Decide which audience you actually need in the room rather than splitting a team thin across two continents.

3. Check accommodation before you commit the stand. October concentrates unusually: Paris carries two of the month's highest-attendance floors inside a fortnight, Las Vegas carries five, and Germany carries six in the October 20-30 stretch alone. With major events overlapping in all three, check hotel and flight availability before committing to a stand rather than after.

4. Protect follow-up capacity. A team working four October shows will generate more leads in four weeks than it can process in eight, and Q4 leaves no slack to catch up before year end. Most trade show ROI is won after the event, not on the floor. (See our guide on measuring trade show ROI.)

November Events to Prepare for Now

The Q4 run does not stop at October. Three events straddle the boundary or open immediately after:

  • Canton Fair (Phase 3) - October 31-November 4 | Guangzhou (fashion, home textiles, health and food)
  • ADIPEC - November 2-5 | Abu Dhabi (energy)
  • CIIE - November 5-10 | Shanghai (China International Import Expo)

The Bottom Line

Across the shows we track, October 2026 is not the month with the most events, but it carries several of the highest reported participation figures. Their most recent editions reported 508,007 visitors for the Paris Motor Show and more than 285,000 visits for SIAL Paris, and both are biennial. So are PACK EXPO International, EuroBLECH, glasstec, ORGATEC, JIMTOF and IZB. That is eight major floors that exist in 2026 and then not again until 2028.

It is also a month with an unusually volatile published calendar. Four significant events changed city, timing or name in the run-up to this edition, and two shows that are widely listed as October events are not. The teams that get value out of October 2026 will be the ones that locked the biennial dates early, resolved the October 20-23 collision on purpose rather than by default, and checked every listing against the organiser before wiring a deposit.
